INTRODUCTION
Women in our country have been victims of oppression and exploitation for centuries. In society they were given a lower status than men of the house. Education was not considered necessary for them rather it was viewed as an evil. The need for the welfare of women has been felt strongly since long. Our constitution has granted equal rights and opportunities to men and women. Realizing the dire need for voluntary organizations to supplement Government's efforts to rise the status of women, His Holiness Acharya Sushil Kumarji Maharaj has inspired to start a Women's Polytechnic which could impart vocational courses to the girls and ladies so as to make them self reliant and productive members of Society.

Thus with the blessings of H.H Acharya Sushil Kumarji Maharaj, Ahimsa Women's Polytechnic was started in 1985. Since then it has made a lot of progress and has conducted courses in various vocational streams for one year Diploma course and short term Hobby courses.

EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE
The Polytechnic maintains regular liaison with industries, business and trade houses and also other organizations to help the successful candidates to secure employment. For this purpose an Employment Register is maintained and those who wish to seek assistance, may get their names registered.

The Polytechnic has ambitious plans and programme to fully equip itself with the latest equipments and impart the latest knowledge to the students to meet the challenges and understand the crux of life.
