The temple of Shri Parshwanatha
Bhagwan,
belonging to Digambara sect is located at Rampur Kila in Bareli distrtict of
Uttar Pradesh. It used to be a highly flourishing town spread within a
circumference of 48 kilometers in pre-historic days, and used to be capital of
many rulers. The statues obtained from here are said to belong to Kushan and
Gupta periods.
It is a
Deeksha, and Gyan Kalyanak Kshetra of 23rd Tirthankara Bhagwan
Parshwantah. In a magnificent temple six summits idol of Bhagwan
Parshwnath is famous as "TIKHAL WALE BABA". This is the very
place where the wicked of ten incarnation of Bhagwan Parshwanath -
Kamath did calamity on ascetic Parshwanath while in austerity. In
mahabharat era, this place was the capital of North Panchal when
Dronacharya was the emperor. In village Ramnagar - kila one Jain
temple is also to be visited. One more temple of Tees-chowbisi is
under construction.
