Ayodhya Jain Tirth - Uttar Pradesh

 

 

Location : 139 Kilometers Away From Lucknow

This place has two Jain temples on of Shri Ajitnath Ji Bhagwan, belonging to Swetambar Sect, and the other are of Shri Adishwar Bhagwan Ji belonging to Digambar Sect. This holy place famous as the city where Rama was born and who later ruled over the state was also the birth place of Adinath Bhagwan, as sell as the birth place of another four Tirhtankars, Shri Ajitnath Ji, Shri Abhinandan Ji, Shri Sumatinath Jiand Sri Anantnath Ji.

As per sacred books of Jains, Ayodhya is a everlasting Tirth - viz. all tirthankars are born here only. But due to Kaal Dosh - Hundavasarpani period, only Garbh and Birth of Bhagwan Adinath and four Kalyanaks of Bhagwan Ajit, Sumati and Anant were held at this everlasting Tirth of Jains.

The main temple is situated at Raiganj area. In this splendid temple - which is in a vast courtyard, main idol of Bhagwan Adinath, 37 feet high in standing posture is placed. In addition to the main temple, different temples viz. Kamal Mandir, Chaubisi temple etc. are also worth seeing. Five Tonks of different Tirthankars are existing in hereby places. These tonks were in ruined condition, which have now been renovated. Important events like Bharat-Bahubali war, Birth of Rama and Exile of Rani sita were held here.
