History of Vighnaharneshvar Parshvnatha Digamber Jain Kshetra : According to history the temple of Vighnaharneshvar Parshvnatha Digamber Jain Kshetra dates back to thousands of years. The idols installed here are also very ancient and stand as an impression of Jainism. The temple is associated with many legends and miracles. It is said that the idol of Lord Parshavanatha had appeared by itself at that place. Once during the construction of flats by the government on this particular plot, the idol was found to be lying underneath the ground. All the flats were destroyed and turned into ash because of fire. Slowly people could see the serpentine hoods of the idol. The place was then dug thoroughly and the idol was discovered. With the help of few people the standing posture of the Lord was dug out. The Jain Samaj at Hyderabad was informed about the incident. From the year 1984 to 1997, the idol was handed over to popular people of Jain Samaj. Later after much detailed discussion the decision was taken by the Samaj to construct a beautiful temple here and to install the idol in it. It is believed that the idol has miraculous powers. By worshipping and offering prayers to the Vighnharaneshvar Parshvnatha devotees can get rid of their worries and their desires get fulfilled. Devotees from all casts come here for pilgrimage.

Temple of Vighnaharneshvar Parshvnatha Digamber Jain Kshetra : The temple of Vighnaharneshvar Parshvnatha Digamber Jain Kshetra houses the deity of Lord Parshavanatha. The temple has been built magnificently with intricate designs. It is adorned with high pinnacle that have been decorated artistically. Even the main gate and the altar have been built attractively and enhance the beauty of the temple. The idol of the temple is made of black stone. It is 11 feet and 3 inches in height and is in a standing posture. It is surmounted with 7 serpent hoods over its head. The idol is believed to belong to the 9th century. The water of consecration flows from all the hoods and then through head and shoulders it finally reaches the feet. The scene of consecration by milk appears to very holy and beautiful. A model of great teerth Sammed Shikharji has also been constructed here that looks very appealing. Another attraction of the temple is the Manstambh or column of dignity. It is a masterpiece and portrays the artistic skills of the craftsmen. It stands a unique piece of architecture. The temple also organizes many functions. The Panch Kalyanak Pratishtha Mahotsava was organized from 10th of March 2003 to 16th of March 2003 with many cultural programs and functions.

Vighnaharneshvar Parshvnatha Digamber Jain Kshetra is located in a natural hilly area full of greenery. It is thus surrounded by natural beauty that mesmerizes the pilgrims visiting the temple. The temple also has provisions for dharamshalas or rest houses for the pilgrims.

Vighnaharneshvar Parshvnatha Digamber Jain Kshetra is well connected to road, rail and air. Busses and taxies are available from Hyderabad. The Kshetra is situated on Hyderabad-Medak road. The nearest railway station is located in Hyderabad. The nearest airport is also situated there.
