Vaktapur Jain Tirth - Bh. Chintamani Parshvanath

 

 

Location : The Nearest Railway Station of Himmatnagar is at a distance of 8 Kilometers from the Tirth. The railway station of Ider is at a distance of 20 Kilometers. The Nearest Town is Vaktapur. Bus service and private vehicles are available. There is an Upashraya for Sadhus and Sadhvis. Boards and lodging provisions are there.

Mulnayak : Nearly 52 cms high, white-coloured idol of Bhagawan Chintamani Parshvanath in the Padmasana Posture.

History : Shrimad Vijayanandaghanasuri Maharaj Saheb conceived an idea of establishing a small tirth for their holiness Sadhus-Sadhvis and the Jain Community within 30 Kilometers Near Himmatnagar and Idar on the Ambaji state Highway. Under his inspiration and instructions, the idea of establishing a small tirth developed into setting up a big tirth. His holiness Acharyadev Yogadivakar Vijayadasurisvarji, the prime disciple of Shrimad Vijaybhvansurisvarji Maharaj Saheb, the prime disciple of his holiness Gachchhadhipati Shrimad Vijayramchadrasurisvarji, established OMB Shirr Parshvapadmavati Jain tirth and installed the idol in it. Besides the idol of Mulnayak Bhagawan Chintamani Parshvanath, idols of Nakoda Bhairavji and Shri Manibhadravir were also installed. Besides, there is also a Gurumandir of Mandevsuri who composed the Jain stotra of Laghu Shanti.

Other Temples : Adjoining this chief temple, there is a small pinnacle temple. The idol of Padmavatidevi is installed in it. There is also a temple in the village Vaktapur.

Art Works : In a mango-grove of two and a half acres on the outskirts of the village Vaktapur this new tirth is established. It looks beautiful like a Sadhanakutir. presently, under the plan of developing the tirth, the work of building an Upashray and making a garden is under progress. Looking to the plan of developing this tirth, it seems that it will become a tremendously important tirth.
