Location : 52 Kms Away From Mangalore.
Venoor was once a flourishing town. There is a Gommateshwara idol about 38 feet tall and located on an elevated terrace on the south bank of the Gurpur river was set up in 1604 A. D. by Veera Thimanna Ajila Prince IV ( 1550-1610). Venoor has Basadis (Temples). The images in some of the Basdies are well carved.
